Ashley + Brandon’s Engagement Session

The three of us drove toward the mountains and the setting sun. The destination was Chiles Peach Orchard in Crozet, VA.
Afterwards we hit up Blue Mountain Brewery for some eats and drinks! A great finish to a great day.

Traveling to Texas

Traveling to Texas

Lora and I are in Texas for a couple of days, so we can hang out and also shoot a wedding on Saturday for one of her college friends. It’s hot down here, but it feels great! Back in Charlottesville it has been pretty cool, so the heat is a nice change for us. At [...]

Vacation

Lora and I are heading to Chicago for a visit with Darlene and Andrew. We will also see my parents for a day or so.
This has been much anticipated time off for me as it’s been really crazy in cville with weddings and the shop.
Thank you for time off!
I’m even shooting some film for a [...]

Abducted

feeling…
whelmed
tired
behind
sad
it doesn’t much matter, because there are kids all around the world dying and being forced into situations no one should be in.
ready to relieve the world of its pain and suffering.

I’m in another country… to photograph a wedding.

The country is the Dominican Republic.
I am carrying my camera with me everywhere I go. I’m determined to have a few nice shots this week. Here are a few that I like from full Day 1.
The place is Casa de Campo.
The church location is Altos de Chavon.

This is Benerito. He sells things to tourists. He [...]

Dia de Luz | Day of Light

going back to Nicaragua?I hope so. Soon… This is life.
Entering what appears to be a war-zone, La Chureca, is actually a trash dump in Nicaragua home to over 1,500 people. Walk alongside musician Braddigan from sunrise to sunset as he is joined by hundreds of students, artists, athletes, and musicians as they break down emotional, [...]

I’m going to be married in 19 days.

How has time flown by so fast?!
I’m not sure, but it has and it has been wonderful, every step of the way.
thanks for following me through it. i’m working to keep better track of things, on this.

Advent Conspiracy

Maybe it’s true? Let’s try it this year.

The Last 5 Months – a catch up in fotos.

I know it’s brief, but you have to pardon that on my part. It’s been a crazy time. Lots of things happening. A few are things for sure… I am in love, my feet are still under me and Jesus loves me.
Go see it in pictures… NOW!!

i paid 2.14 for gas today in richmond. remarkable.
if there is one thing we can be thankful for it is this. we learned how to be a little more wise with the cars we drive and how often we drive and where we go. thanks OPEC.

photo shoot fun

Lora came with me today for a photo shoot for C-ville Weekly – my first shoot for them in nearly four months. Oh man, have I missed it. Today we were with Kenny Shreves, who owns a auto shop. Specifically he likes, works on and races Porsches. We had a good time hanging out with [...]

Time Passing…Tommy

Tommy passed away this morning. He was the first homeless man I met since I’ve been here in Charlottesville. He’s been a constant around here and now we just have memories of him. I’m sure we’ll see him when we get to Heaven.

Catching up…

So, I opened a coffee shop on September 11, with Lora (my fiancee) and since then have photographed 9 weddings. I’m woring on catching up. These next posts will be a little out of order, but my intent is that I will be able to get a blog entry up for all the weddings I [...]

Time happens

It’s been so long since I have written on here. I am sorry for that. I would imagine that the two or three people that used to follow my life have since stopped due to my absence from the world wide web.
I think I’m back now.
Enjoy!

It’s February and…

…no longer January.
How does time go by so quickly? I woke up this morning and realized it is already February 2, 2008. January came and went with a lot of exciting things and newness.
The year started with a habitat work trip to New Orleans with a group of students from UVA and the fellows program [...]

Choices

We make choices everyday.
We have to.
What will you choose to do today?
Love
Hope
Frustration
Good
Bad
Oneness
Divide
The choice is ours.

Back in the Ville

For all you faithful blog readers, (all two of you) I made it back from San Francisco on Sunday night after a long day of traveling. There wasn’t too much excitement though, so I don’t have any amazing stories to talk about. I’ll be heading to Houston on Monday for a photo shoot with Nike [...]

More that finishing a book

While I was in Nicaragua the last few weeks, I realized how important it is to be reading books. A friend I was with had knowledge about things I could only dream about knowing or understanding.
I finished my first book the other day. This was the first cover to cover book I have read in [...]
